The Northmont men’s volleyball team is off to a 2-0 start in conference play after defeating Centerville late Thursday night. Northmont started the match with a lot of energy and took the first set 25-18. The Bolts went into the second set feeling too comfortable and dropped the set 16-25. The rest of the the night was a battle between the two rivals. The teams split the 3rd and 4th sets 30-28 and 25-27. Northmont pulled off some big serves and a few blocks to finish on top of the final set 16-14. The Bolts were led by Dawson Walker with 20 kills, 7 blocks, 3 aces and 12 digs, Ryan Foy with 32 assists, 7 kills, and 13 digs, Dylan Sell with 15 digs, Abdihafid Abas with 9 kills and Matt Bridenbaugh with 7 kills and 14 digs. Record 5-1.
The Junior Varsity defeated the Centerville JV B 19-25, 25-15, 25-22 and lost to Centerville JV A 25-12, 26-24. Record 3-4.
