Northmont Beats Springboro

The Northmont Boys Varsity Team played Springboro at Thunderbowl Lanes in Englewood on February 8th.  The team won with a total score of 2333 to Springboro’s 2253.  The win increased Northmont’s overall GWOC standings to 8-2. Leading the way for Northmont was Jonathan King with two games of 228 for a 456 series.  He was followed by Steve Kocher with games of 220 and 195 for a 415 series, Tyler Blackwell with games of 181 and 195 for a 376 series and Wyatt Meyers with games of 202 and 172 for a 374 series.  Bradlee Fritz also bowled a 169 game.  Northmont’s team games were 993 and 959, and their baker games were 188 and 193.

The JV Team bowled over their opponents with an overall total of 2226 to Springboro’s 1577.  Their regular games were 932 and 909, and their baker games were 168 and 217.  Leading the way for the JV team was Tyler Gleadell with games of 261 and 194 for a 455 series, followed by Tyler Dock with games of 176 and 210 for a 386 and Jake Staley with games of 192 and 159 for a 351 series.

The Northmont JV’s bowl in a JV only tournament at noon at Poelking South on Saturday, February 11th.

The next conference match for both teams (which will be their last one for the season) with be held at 4 PM on February 15th at Thunderbowl where the boys will take on Miamisburg.  They will bowl in sectionals on February 23rd at 9 AM at Woodman Lanes.  Nine teams and nine individuals will qualify to move on to district competition at Beaver-Vu Lanes on March 1st.
