The varsity boys golf team competed in the Scott Homan Memorial Invitational today at Piqua Country Club. The Bolts posted a four year season best team score of 333 which was good for 4th place out of 18 teams that were in attendance. The bolts were led by junior Shawn Richards who carded a career best score of 78. Junior Luke Knapke continued his steady play by shooting 83 today. Another Junior, Wesley Kincaid, fired a round of 85. Freshmen Connor Cummins added an 87 to the mix to round out our team scoring today. Senior Aaron Gagnier was one shot out of the team scoring today with his score of 88. The varsity bolts hope to continue this hot streak when they tee it up Wednesday at WGC in Xenia. We will be competing in a tri match against Xenia High School and Butler High School.
Today’s performance trumped the varsity’s season opening tournament score of 342 that we posted last Friday at the GWOC preseason tournament at Beechwood Golf Course.
Following Wednesday’s match at WGC, the bolts take the course this Thursday at Turtle Creek GC when we tee it up at the Greenville Invitational. All signs indicate that the bolts are eager and anxious to begin GWOC divisional play next week. Watch out for the varsity boys golf program in 2014!
Go Bolts! We are Northmont!
