The annual NorthFairMontMont FireBolt Cup was contested on the front nine at Beavercreek Golf Club today. This is the first year we have gone to a match play format to decide an event that pairs the varsity and JV players from Northmont and Fairmont against each other. This event is a great way for each program to prepare for the upcoming GWOC postseason and Division 1 Sectional Golf Tournaments. Fairmont retained the FireBolt Cup with an 11-1 victory. Five of the matches were decided on the final green. Needless to say, the outcome could have been substantially different had a few more putts fallen for Northmont this afternoon. The lone Thunderbolt point came from freshman Ethan Sanderson who closed out Jack Seubert 1 up.
Northmont stroke play totals were as follows:
Ethan 52 (won a point)
The JV bolts are in action again tomorrow 9/28 against Piqua in their final match of the season. The Varsity bolts play in the GWOC postseason tournament Thursday 9/29, the Butler Invitational Sarurday 10/1, and the Division 1 Sectional Tournament Monday 10/3. We will see you on the links!
