The men’s volleyball team continued to build confidence in a close loss to Ohio #1 ranked St. Xavier. “If we could have just finished in the first set the outcome might have been different. We made a few key mistakes at the end of the first set and blew a couple set points.” -Coach Smith. The Bombers were able to finish the opening set with a 28-26 win. Northmont began the second set with some passing and blocking errors which put them in a 7 point deficit. The Bombers took the second set 25-19. Northmont fought back and won the third set 25-22. Another run of passing errors put the Bolts in too big of a hole to come back in set four. St. Xavier took the final set 25-18. “Our team is still working hard and improving every day. We are still trying people in different positions to see what is going to work best. We are also fortunate to have several players that can step in and fill these positions. -Coach Smith. The team was led by Ryan Foy with 26 assists, 6 blocks and 7 kills, Ivan Sampson with 8 kills, 12 digs, Devin Blankenship with 6 blocks and Matt Bridenbaugh with 25 digs.
