Northmont track records set at GWOC
Barrett and Hill set new school records

TROY — Two Northmont High School girls track records were broken Friday at the Greater Western Ohio Conference Track and Field meet at Troy High School.
Leila Hill went 17 feet in the long jump and Mel Barrett ran 2:14.32 in the 800 meter run.
In addition, the Northmont girls track team won the National West division crown by scoring 83 points and were third overall in team scoring behind Troy (141 points) and Centerville (92 points). National West teams Springboro came in 5th with 49 points, Miamisburg 7th with 40.5 points and Lebanon finished 8th overall with 34 points.
A total of 20 boys teams competed in the conference meet and 17 girls teams.
The Northmont boys team placed 7th overall in the GWOC to earn a second place finish in the National West. Miamisburg took 1st place with 55.5 points and was 5th overall in the team standings. Lebanon was 8th overall to take 3rd in the National West and Springboro was 9th overall with 30 points to take fourth in the National West.
