Northmont Senior High School
Butler High School
The Butler Aviators defeated the Northmont Thunderbolts in a shootout at Cassel Hills Golf Course this evening. Tonight’s contest pitted geographic, GWOC, rival schools against one another. The Bolts led or tied five of the six pairings on the course before Butler’s Austin Greaser recorded medalist honors with a -1 total of 35 on the par 36 back nine of Cassel Hills. That was good for a four stroke victory for the Aviators 167 to 171.
Leading the way for the T-Bolts was junior Jackson Trottier who posted an impressive score of 40 which included five pars against four bogeys. Playing in the second group out together, were senior Cole Stephens and junior Noah Thayer who tied each other with scores of 43. Rounding out our team total tonight was junior David Richards who carded a score of 45. Junior Alec Avdakov battled back from a quintuple bogey 8 on the par 3, 13th hole to post a score of 47. Sophomore Gavin Caras added a round of 49 tonight as well.
The Varsity Bolts are in action at home next Monday (Xenia) and Tuesday (Miamisburg) on the links of Meadowbrook at Clayton. The start time for both of those matches is 4:00 pm.
We will see you on the links! Go Bolts!
