The Varsity Boys’ Golf Team Competed in the GWOC Postseason Tournament today at Beechwood Golf Course in Arcanum. This event was contested on the Woodland and Creekside nines. The golf course was in great shape which was aided by moderate temperatures and a steady northerly wind. Scoring conditions were ideal for all of the players in today’s field. In total, 19 teams from the GWOC Conference were represented. With a team score of 341, Northmont finished in 8th place overall. Congratulations to the Centerville Elks for winning today’s GWOC Championship with a team score of 305.
Leading the way for the Thunderbolts was sophomore Gavin Caras who posted a score of 84. Gavin tapped in a birdie putt on the par 3, 7th hole (his third hole of the day) after almost making an ace to jumpstart his round! Junior Noah Thayer went out in 39 strokes on his first 9 holes on his way to a score of 85. Junior Alec Avdakov made 8 pars today while posting 86 for the tournament. Making his varsity debut for the T-Bolts was freshman Brayden Hobert. Brayden saved his best performance of the season for this appearance with an impressive round of 86. Junior David Richards battled all day to post a round of 88. In his final GWOC competition for the Kelly Green and White, Senior Cole Stephens posted a score of 93. While today’s total was far from Cole’s season average, it capped off an otherwise outstanding senior campaign!
