The Northmont Area Chamber of Commerce came to Northmont High School on Thursday, November 7th to have their November Monthly Board meeting. Northmont DECA members had an opportunity to hear about what the Chamber of Commerce does for the local businesses in the community as well as see the board in action with their monthly meeting.
Along with the monthly meeting, the chapter was able to hear from a representative from Legal/ID Sheild about identity theft and the proper procedures and steps to take to help with fighting with identity theft.
The meeting is just one of the many activities that are planned for the year as part of the chapter’s Career Development project that is designed to educate students on the appropriate skills necessary to enter a business or marketing career after high school and college.
It has been a great partnership for the DECA chapter to work with Cathy Hutton and the Northmont Chamber of Commerce. It is great being able to give the students hands-on learning from the real world. I think the connection we have with the Chamber and local businesses has strengthed both class and the DECA chapter. I look forward to the continued connection with Cathy and the Chamber. – Eric Wagner, Advisor
