Your Northmont girls bowling team had an impressive finish to their week. On Saturday they traveled to Columbus to compete in the Red & Blue Classic Tournament. The girls came away with a 2nd place finish 7 pins behind 1st. This was the closest finish in the tournaments history.
Congratulations to Juniors Kristin Beighley and Taylor Herchenbach for making the All Tournament Team. Great Job to all the girls!
The 2014-2015 Bowling Season has begun. Your Northmont Varsity Girls competed against Middletown on Thursday December 4th. The match was a competitive one. The girls found themselves 56 pins down after the first game. After the second game the girls were only 39 pins down going into Bakers. In the end despite a great effort the girls were short 29 pins giving Middletown the victory 2044-2015.
Highlight of the match was Junior Zoe Boone’s 225 game. We look forward to seeing Middletown again at the Eastern Holiday Tournament December 29th.
Come out to the Kleptz YMCA Saturday night at 6:00 P.M. and support the swimmers! It’s their first official meet of the season and it’s at home. The first meet is a double dual meet against Tipp City and Troy Christian. Let’s pack the pool and cheer on our swimming Thunderbolts!

Emails were sent out to all current golf team members to drum up interest in these practices that will run on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 4-5:00pm. Please read the information contained on the paragraph below. There is plenty of space available in case you decide you want to attend these practices but have yet you express your interest. We are inviting all current golf team members and any high school student who may express interest in playing golf for Northmont in the future. Currently, we are limiting participation to younger students to those who are currently in 8th grade – 12th grade. Contact information for the NGPA president, Mr. Stuart Hunter is listed below. He is spearheading this venture and will be glad to assist in any way that he can to answer your questions.
The winter practice program will be every Tuesday and Thursday (November through February) from 4-5 pm at the North Dayton Golf Academy on Union Rd. beginning this Tuesday November 4th. The cost will be $75 per player, and the NGPA will be covering the balance of the total cost of the program. Each session will include a medium bucket of balls for each player, as well as the use of the entire facility including the indoor putting green and the indoor hitting area (with employee or adult supervision).
Again, the first session will be Tuesday November 4th at 4:00 pm. Please bring your $75 check made payable to Northmont Golf Parents Association to your first session.
This is a wonderful opportunity for our program and I’m anxious to see how it goes. Please contact the Northmont Golf Parent’s Association President, Stuart Hunter should you wish for your 8th – 12th student athlete/potential golf team member to attend these NON-mandatory winter practice sessions.
Northmont swimmers selected four team captains last Friday after practice. On the boy’s side, seniors, Tyler Adams and Zach Kirby were selected. Senior, Hannah Hapner and junior, Delaney Schreiber were selected on the girl’s side. All four swimmers are very deserving of this honor because of their hard work, dedication, and commitment to the team.
