Early lead gives Northmont Varsity Fastpitch victory over Springfield (OH), 14-0

Northmont Varsity Fastpitch jumped out to an early lead on Springfield and captured a 14-0 victory on Tuesday at Northmont High School .

The game was decided quickly as Northmont Varsity Fastpitch exerted its will early with 11 runs in the first three innings.

An RBI single by Taylor Hoover and a home run by Erin Mangen during the first inning fueled Northmont Varsity Fastpitch’s offense early.

Mangen racked up six RBIs on two hits for Northmont Varsity Fastpitch.

Mallory Woods racked up six strikeouts in the Northmont Varsity Fastpitch win. Northmont Varsity Fastpitch’s pitcher gave up just three hits over four shutout innings.

K McCleary took the loss for Springfield . She allowed 14 runs in four innings, walked eight and struck out none.

Northmont Varsity Fastpitch tacked on another six runs in the third. An error scored Lizzie Ritchie to start the scoring in the inning. That was followed up by Hoover’s single, bringing home Courtney Jasinski.

Northmont Varsity Fastpitch piled on three more runs in the bottom of the fourth. Mangen’s single got things going, scoring Emma Finch and Marissa Bardonaro. That was followed up by Ritchie’s single, scoring Ryanne Stoffel.

Big hitting performance carries Jv Fastpitch past Springfield 21-0

A superb effort by Elaine Prater hoisted Northmont Jv to a 21-0 win in five innings over Springfield on Tuesday.

Prater racked up seven RBIs on five hits for the Bolts. She doubled in the first inning, hit a grand slam in the fourth inning, and singled in the first, third, and fifth innings.

Sixteen runs in the first three innings helped Northmont Jv blow out Springfield. An RBI double by Emma Bodiker, a sacrifice fly by Lindsay Mutter, an RBI single by Emily Frantz, a walk by Caroline Stanaway, and a two-run double by Prater during the first inning and an RBI single by Kassie Keleman, an RBI single by Frantz, and a walk by Prater in the second inning fueled Jv Fastpitch’s offense early.

Northmont’s Erin Norman kept Springfield off the scoreboard for all five innings she was on the rubber. She pitched a shutout, allowing no runs on five hits while striking out six.

Northmont easily handled Springfield pitching as seven hitters combined for 26 hits, 18 RBIs and 21 runs scored.

Burcham took the loss for Springfield. She allowed 21 runs in five innings, walked seven and struck out none.

Northmont increased its lead with six runs in the third. Keleman homered, scoring Sydney McGilton to start the inning.

Game Recap

Bolts score 4 in the bottom of the 7th to win 6-5 over Springfield. What a way to end on Senior Night with a walk off single in the bottom of the 7th inning. Brenden Jewsikow picked up his first win of the season coming in relief and pitching 3 1/3 innings. Collin Hobert hit a 1-1 count over the shortstop head to score Brandt Cronebach for the game winning hit. The Bolts will travel to West Carrollton on Wednesday.

Emily Ritchie leads Northmont Varsity Fastpitch to 23-2 win over Springfield (OH)

A superb effort by Emily Ritchie lifted Northmont Varsity Fastpitch to a 23-2 win in five innings over Springfield on Monday at Springfield High School .

Ritchie racked up seven RBIs on two hits for Northmont Varsity Fastpitch. She homered in the first and second innings.

Sixteen runs in the opening three innings allowed Northmont Varsity Fastpitch to easily put away Springfield. A walk by Whitney Fiedler, a walk by Mallory Woods, a sacrifice fly by Erin Mangen, and a three-run home run by Ritchie during the first inning and an RBI single by Taylor Hoover and a three-run home run by Ritchie in the second inning fueled Northmont Varsity Fastpitch’s offense early.

Northmont Varsity Fastpitch hit four home runs in the win. Additional home runs for Northmont Varsity Fastpitch came when Fiedler homered in the third inning and Erin Mangen homered in the fourth inning.

Fiedler got the win for Northmont Varsity Fastpitch. She tossed three innings of shutout ball. Fiedler struck out two, walked none and gave up two hits.

K McCleary was charged with the loss. She allowed 13 runs in three innings, walked six and struck out three.

Northmont Varsity Fastpitch added six more runs in the top of the third. The inning got off to a hot start when Fiedler hit a grand slam, bringing home Cory Mangen, Courtney Jasinski and Hoover.

Northmont Varsity Fastpitch piled on four more runs in the top of the fifth. An error scored Anna Mangen to get Northmont Varsity Fastpitch on the board in the inning. That was followed up by Ryanne Stoffel‘s single, plating Jasinski.
