The Beavercreek Lady Beavers tallied three first-half goals en route to a 4-0 win over the Lady Bolts.
A win over Beavercreek could have propelled Northmont into second place in the GWOC but the Beavers put a quick end to that dream by hitting the back of the Bolts net three times on corner kicks. The tough loss dropped NHS to 3-3 nearing the halfway mark of the season.
“A good friend of mine always says, you either win or learn. We didn’t get the win tonight, but hopefully, the girls will walk away with something they can grow as an individual or as a team. Hopefully, we know what it takes to win against a strong team so we will be more prepared when we see them in October.” said Coach Mergler.
In JV action, the Lady Bolts notched a 1-0 victory over the JV Beavers to move to 4-2 on the season. Alina Perkins converted the goal from a Reagan Doughty corner midway through the first half. The defense dug in deep and held on for the win.
The Lady Bolts travel to winless Springfield on Monday 9/14 to round out the GWOC first half. JV action starts at 5:30 with The Varsity contest set for 7 PM.
