Northmont Varsity lost the lead late in a 7-6 defeat to Fairmont on Wednesday. The game was tied at five with Fairmont batting in the bottom of the fifth when Fairmont scored two runs.

Northmont collected ten hits and Fairmont had 13 in the high-scoring affair.

Northmont put up three runs in the fourth inning. Their big bats were led by Sam McGilton and Emma Kautz, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Carmynn Bonner was in the pitcher’s circle for the Bolts. The bulldog went six innings, allowing seven runs on 13 hits, striking out six and walking one.

Northmont smacked one home run on the day. McGilton had a long ball in the fourth inning. Northmont collected ten hits on the day.
