On Friday, October 24th, as part of the Northmont DECA Financial Literacy Project, which is chaired by Emilija Sereika, Josie Morgan, and Lily Kahlig. Went into the 4th Grade classroom at Englewood Hills. The 4th graders had the opportunity to learn about important Financial Literacy topics, including wants vs. needs, saving vs. checking, creating a budget, credit vs. debit, and saving.
Finally, to fully embrace the skills they learned, the students had an activity in which they had to budget for a trip and ensure they could save enough to enjoy their dream vacation, even with a few unexpected expenses along the way.
This is just one of the projects the Financial Literacy Project will complete this year, as they have several planned for Northmont High School Students.
